One of the things I first thought about when HPE announced its plans to acquire Juniper Networks was how will this benefit our customers? We were a long term Juniper Partner with great expertise and a proven track record of supporting our customers across Juniper products and services.

We had also worked with a number of the Aruba solutions before, we especially had success with our customers and the EdgeConnect product line (Silverpeak), this was an exciting piece to see come back into the wheelhouse.
Fast forward to post acquisition and something I am interested in discussing with our customers is HPEs Network as a Service. HPE has been offering this model to their customers for sometime across the Aruba Portfolio and via GreenLake in the Hybrid space of HPEs offerings. It is now available in the Australian market for the Juniper Networks portfolio and I believe this gives our customers another way to plan their Networks and the way they consume Networking.c

The Home Depot knew the kind of scale necessary to roll this out would be enormous. “We looked at what it would take and the upfront investment to make it happen,” Grider recalls. “And then we looked out five years and assessed the cost to refresh it all and we knew we needed a different approach.”
Why would you be interested in NaaS?
NaaS allows you to consume HPE Hardware, Software and Services through a single monthly subscription, removing any upfront CapEx investment.
Unlike a lease, the subscription does not appear as an asset or liability on your company’s balance sheet.
Hardware Refresh cycles, take the complexity out of the 5-8 year cycle. With NaaS you can move to the latest models in a new subscription at the anniversary date.
Standardised offerings - HPE has come up with common use cases for Wired, Wireless and SD-WAN that come predefined in a subscription model.
If your requirements are broader than standardised they have you covered with the HPE Networking NaaS Systems option, which allows you to consume the broader product portfolio in an as a service model.
There are also things to keep in mind if this model is something you would consider. There are minimum requirements based on spend, depending on the construct of your Network some options may be limited to you from a hardware and software perspective. ICT Networks and the HPE team can discuss these types of scenarios with you so you are informed.
If your business prefers OpEx and you are looking at refreshing your Network in the near future it is worthwhile thinking about NaaS and what it might do for you.

A recent ED trip with one of the kids revealed a surprisingly accurate triage wait-time counter. I expected a feel-good dummy number — but nope, it actually worked.
